I’m a biologist, originally from Innsbruck, holding a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, specializing in molecular medicine, from the University of Vienna. Bacteriophages and the interplay between bacteria and phages fascinated me early on, motivating me to pursue my PhD studies on the interaction between phages and their host, Pseudomonas aeruginosa in different enviornmental settings. I conducted my PhD research at the Witzenrath lab at Charité Berlin and will defend my thesis later this year at Humboldt University.
Research interests
Phage therapy, phage–bacteria–host interactions, antimicrobial resistance, microbiome–phage dynamics
Current project
In October 2025, I joined the Wendling group, where I am working with prophages as potential therapeutic tools, using Galleria mellonella as an in vivo model.
