I studied Natural Resources Biotechnology Engineering in Cuenca, Ecuador, and later earned a master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering: Cellular and Genetic Engineering from KU Leuven in Belgium. During my master’s thesis at the Laboratory of Gene Technology, I worked on engineering a Pseudomonas aeruginosa production strain for therapeutic phages using a CRISPR-Cas3 system. I joined the Wendling Lab in August 2025, where I’m exploring the engineering and in vitro testing of potential therapeutic prophages and their carriers to help treat gut infections.
